INA250: INA250 design help

Part Number: INA250

Dear team

Good day!

Our customer need us to confirm some details of INA250

1.The description and datasheet says its bidirectional, but based on the diagram, the common mode voltage is from -0.1 to 30V,So, basically for our project, we control the induced voltage of a solenoid. To do this, we use a 4 quadrant power supply, which puts a current between -10A and 10A to our product .Our product is in the range of 0.6Ohms, so that means we go from 0V to +6V, then back to 0, then -6V, and then back to 0V.My question is if we could measure the current with the INA250... as it is bidirectional.

2.the diagram shows that the load is connected to GND. I think, if instead the INA is connected to GND, then at 10Amps, the 2mOhm shunt would make the voltage equal to 10mV...plus and minus. this is within -0.1 and 36V range...like: GND ---INA SHUNT ---- LOAD ----- POWER RAIL .If this is possible, then the INA should be able to operate with -10A to 10A, as it would equal -0.020 to 0.020 Volts.

Best regards

Leon.liu
