XTR105: Linearization correction for XTR105 resistive bridge application?

Part Number: XTR105
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR106

Hi Team,

Please find the schematic for resistive bridge application. I find the linearization correction with  RLIN in datasheet is for RTD application. Could you please give some guide on how to do linearization correction and tips to improve the accuracy of the current loop for the schematic above ? Thanks for the help.

Best Regards,

Tess Chen

  • Hi Tess,

if in the bridge precision metal film resistors with low TK are used, there's no need for a correction.

Please explain how the bridge is working and what the switches are for.

  • Hi Tess,

Yes, could you please explain how the bridge is working. The XTR106 is another current loop transmitter that provides linearization for bridge sensors by controlling the bridge excitation voltage. As Kai pointed out, using precision metal film resistors with low TK in the bridge should get rid of the need for linearization.
