Hello
I have just installed the GUI and we have purchased the eval board, just wanted to know how we can have the current measurement across the load from the GUI?

Hi Akash,
You may follow the instructions in the INA3221EVM User Guide, especially Section 5.2, in order to read from the device.
After communication is established with INA3221, load current can be derived from shunt voltage: I_load =Vshunt/Rshunt.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

Hello Guang
What is the value of Rshunt, Do we need to provide the shunt resistor external to the board?

Hello Guang
We want to test an electronic board for the current requirement as shown below, so do we need to put an external shunt resistor across IN+ and IN- or we can directly give it to the termnal block.
If we give it directly to the terminal block then, how can we calculate the current?

Hi Akash,
Rshunt can be included as shown below:
The EVM is for basic functionality evaluation primarily with voltage input. It will not be very accurate when configured with a shunt resistor, especially if the shunt resistor is small.
To fully takes advantage of INA3221 and make accurate measurements, a customer PCB should be made following layout recommendations in the datasheet.
