Hello,

can you confirm max current on ESD input is "minus 50mA" as specified in datasheet "3.2 Absolute Maximum Ratings, LM2903B-Q1" ?

Also, why this current is specified in negative only ? is it +/-50mA or -50mA only ?

Hello Paul,

Yes. it is -50mA since you would need to pull the input below GND to get the body diode to conduct.

To get current to exceed +50mA in the positive direction, you would have to grossly exceed the maximum input voltage (36V) and drive it into avalanche - and that would probably be only once...
