Looking for clarification on input common mode range requirements for the TL372. My circuit drives a TL372 comparator circuit through a voltage divider to output a change of state when a threshold level is reached. One input to the comparator is from a voltage divider 2.5V circuit. The VDD is 5V and REF voltage is within the VD-1.5V range. One of the comparator meets the common mode range requirement. Other input goes upto 4V. Is this an issue?
Hi Rajesh,
leaving the recommended common mode input voltage range might not alter the logic state of output but can result in a degradation of dynamic performance (speed, propagation delay times, etc.)
