ISO124: Sharing supply for 2 ISO124 ICs

Part Number: ISO124
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP8601

Hello ,

I am planning to use ISO124 to provide isolation as a second stage after my current measurement circuit featuring LMP8601. I might add a second ISO124 for a different reason on the same Board. My question is can I share the +/- Supply voltage for the X2 ISO124 inputs or outputs? Not for the same IC but for 2 different ICs. Here is a drawing that shows what I mean for the input supply (vs1) for example.

Thank you very much in advance!

  • Hi Amr,

On the output side, I can't think of any reason why two ISO124 devices could not share the same supply.  On the input side though, if the two signal sources share the same HV source, it should be fine.  If you are looking at two different phase currents from two different AC lines for example, you probably need to isolate the power rails.
