LMC6001: Input bias current drift LMC6001

Part Number: LMC6001

Customer Capintec is seeing some date code LMC6001's that have been showing Input Bias Current Drifts. Has this been reported as a known issue? Any feedback would be appreciated.

  • Hi Ken,

Can you describe the Ibias current drift issues? Can you send us the date code on LMC6001 as well (just in case)?

Can you also tell us the environment the op amp is working under? Since this part has ultra low Ibias current, the PCB has to be kept in an extreme clean condition, as well as level of moisture level in the air (preferably it will be sealed). If both conditions are not well controlled, then you may encounter Ibias leakage issues at its input.

Please let us know about your setup and Ibias relevant issues.

    Best,

    Raymond

  • Raymond,

Thanks so much for the response, I have asked the customer for more details. Here is the date code 9BAYNKG3.

The engineer at Capintec has only mentioned input bias current drifts and this " She replaced U2 (TI Part #: LMC6001AIN/NOPB) on one of the boards that had difference between High Gain Value and the Low Gain Value is higher than 2"

I will provide more information when I receive it. Thanks again.

  • Hi Ken,

The date code you submitted is legitimate TI Lot. Please describe the Ibias drift observation in detail, such as the part warm up period, measuring time, etc., if cleaness and environmental operating conditions are not part of variables or issues.

Also, please clarify the following statement: "difference between High Gain Value and the Low Gain Value is higher than 2" ".

    Best,

    Raymond
