LM2907-N: Differences between LM2907M/NOPB, LM2907MX/NOPB, and LM2907N/NOPB

Part Number: LM2907-N

I have want to get the 14 pin LM2907, but I am having a hard time distinguishing the differences between the LM2907M/NOPB, LM2907MX/NOPB, and LM2907N/NOPB.  Are the only differences between the three are what is listed on page 30 "Packaging Information" of the data sheet?

  • Hi Michael,

The Packaging Information tables can be extensive and there are often just subtle differences between the different Orderable Devices. Since you are trying to distinguish between the LM2907M/NOPB, LM2907MX/NOPB, and LM2907N/NOPB I highlighted them in the table. Maybe that will make the selection easier.

The LM2907M/NOPB and LM2907MX/NOPB come in the 14-pin SOIC (D) surface mount package, while the LM2907N/NOPB comes in the 14-pin PDIP, through hole, NFF package. Depending on the device mounting that will help narrow it down. If you plan to use the 14-pin SOIC device, then it appears the difference is the Package Qty. The actual minimum quantity will come down to what the TI distributor's minimum quantity requirements.

When I check the prices on the LM2907 web page I see that the LM2907MX/NOPB is the lowest cost version so that is often a determining factor as well.

I hope this makes the selection process easier.
