Hi,TI team,
There are some following questions about TSN on AM6442
1,I have a new hardware design on AM6442.
For support the TSN feature,do I need to use DP83869HM or DP83867IR as media converter?
Can I use another PHY interface as media converter to support TSN feature on AM6442?
2,Are there any demo to show the TSN feture on TMDS64GPEVM with DP83869HM?
Are there any design resource about it?
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
Charles Chen
Charles,
I saw the majority of the questions was already answered in https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/1085222/dp83869hm-phy-for-time-sensitive-networking-tsn . As for the demo on TSN features on TMDS64GPEVM, I'll point to https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1009997/am6442-linux-time-sensitive-networking-on-sitara-processors-including-am64x . If you want to modify or test different features there are useful explanations for the commands run in https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux-rt/esd/AM64X/latest/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components/Kernel/Kernel_Drivers/Network/CPSW3g.html . EST (old name 802.1Qbv) and IET (old name 802.1Qbu / 802.3br) are the main TSN features.
As stated in the PHY team response the PHY support is needed for preemption (IET) feature, otherwise TSN features are MAC level. IET is used in the demo I've linked to above.
