We're trying to source a 24.576 MHz crystal to use with the PCM1863. The datasheet appears to be silent on things like required tolerance, drift and ESR. Is that info available?
Thanks,
Scott
Hi Scott,
Unfortunately we don't have that info, but given the device has an internal PLL I think if you use a crystal that is spec'd under 100ppm tolerance you should be fine. That said, if you are running at a standard audio rate in slave mode then you don't actually need an SCKI as the device has an autoclock configuration feature and can generate internal clocks from BCLK.
Best,
Zak
Thank you Zak. It's good to know that slave mode doesn't require a crystal. Sometimes we're in master mode, so now we're looking at the other end of the link.
