SRC4190-Q1: Input to CC2560 with DSP mode

Part Number: SRC4190-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2560, TLV320ADC3101, SRC4190

Hello, Team,

My customer is inputting signal from TLV320ADC3101 to CC2560 with "DSP mode" stated in the datasheet of TLV320ADC3101.

Is it possible to input from SRC4190IDBRQ1 to CC2560 with similar input method with "DSP mode"?

Thanks,

Masaru Oinaga

  • Hi Oinaga-san,

'DSP Mode' is basically TDM mode where the frame sync is one BCLK wide.  The SRC4190 has TDM mode when using parts in a daisy chain fashion, but I do not know if that mode works the same way when only one device is on the bus.  You would probably be better off using the I2S mode since both the CC2560 and SRC4190 support this.

  • Hi, Hendrick-san,

    >The SRC4190 has TDM mode when using parts in a daisy chain fashion, but I do not know if that mode works the same way when only one device is on the bus.

Do you have the answer for this?

The customer would like to know whether SRC4190 can handle "DSP mode" = "TDM mode where the frame sync is one BCLK wide."
If it can, what are the steps needed?

    Best Regards,
    Masaru Oinaga

  • Oinaga-san,

Please review section 8.2.2.3 of the SRC4190 datasheet.  TDM mode on the SRC4190 does not have the same level of configurability as 'DSP Mode' on the TLV320ADC3101.  TDM mode has a fixed 64-bit frame, with left/right channel data fixed at 32-bits, left justified with the MSB under FS, with data valid on the falling clock edge.  Can you confirm that the CC2560 is able to accommodate this format?

  • Hi, Tom,

    Thank you for your answer.

    CC2560 can accept TDM with L/R 16bits.

From the table 3 of the datasheet, it seems that setting output port data format as "TDM with 16 bits" is ok (OFMT1=1, OFMT0=0, OWL1=1, OWL0=1). Is this correct, or L/R 32bits is only available for TDM mode as you have mentioned?

Also, sorry for asking basic question but how do where can we find the instructions to set these OFMT/OWL values to SRC4190? Is it in the datasheet?

    Best Regards,
    Masaru Oinaga

  • Hi Masaru,

Did you review section 8.2.2.3 as I asked you to do?  OFMT and OWL are physical pins on the SRC4190 (pins 16 to 19) and are hardware configured as 0 or 1 - see page 3 of the datasheet..
