TPA2017D2: How to change Amp Gain to 30dB

Hi TI.

There's a question that customer wants to clarify.

They used TPA2017 along with AIC3101.

According to datasheet as below, Fixed Gain is 6dB, Max Gain is 30dB.

Questions are:

Does it mean that Gain is 6 dB when AGC1,2 is set to 0,0?
Is there a way to adjust the Amp Gain to Max 30 dB?

How do they use the amplifier?

Please answer to set different gain if default fixed gain is limited to 6dB.

Hi Jack,

6dB is the fixed "normal" gain. This is the gain you'll get most of the time form the amplifier. Max gain is the limit it will reach when AGC attacks, this would be the steep ramp from figure 2 on data sheet,

If you have I2C control perhaps TPA2016D2 would be good to take a look as it allows you to set some more settings using the registers.
