TPA3136AD2: 4ohm vs 8ohm design tradeoffs

Greetings,

My customer is planning on using 2x stereo speakers. They are leaning towards TPA3136 or TPA3138. Both of these devices support 4ohm and 8ohm speakers. What is the advantage of using either?

Hi Steven,

Could you tell us more detail information? PVDD, output power?

If 4ohm and 8ohm both can fit customer application, I suggest they use 8ohm load, it can have higher efficiency.

The speakers are both 3W models for the 4ohm and 8 ohm. Does this answer your question?

I suggest 8ohm load for higher efficiency.
