TAS6422E-Q1: Temperature Foldback

Part Number: TAS6422E-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424-Q1

Hi team,

Is there Temperature foldback feature in TAS6422E-Q1?

Temperature foldback means the device automatically limit the volume when junction temperature exceed the predefined threshold.

I saw other thread explaining TAS6424-Q1 doesn't have this feature.

As far as I understand if Junction temperature exceed its threshold, TAS6422E-Q1 will put OUTx in High-Z and shutdown whole registers unless auto-recovery is set.

regards,

  • Hello Shinji,

That is correct the TAS6422E doesn't have Temperature foldback. Once junction temperature exceeds warning level, the warning pin is asserted and if the shutdown threshold is reach all channels are places in Hi-Z.

By default, the device remains shut down after the temperature drops to normal levels, but can be setup to autorecover as you mentioned.

    best regards,

    Luis
