TPA3156D2: Use of SYNC pin in multiple devices

Part Number: TPA3156D2

Hi Team,

My customer is using tpa3156. They get a problem on Chip hot in multiple TPA3156 devices work(using the SYNC pin synchronizaing to  two amplifiers). When both devices are configured in the master mode, the chip heat will be reduced, but the output noise will be increased. Please give me help.

Best regards,

  • Hi Eric

The synchronization shouldn't have so much affection on the heat. You should use different resistors at device's GAIN/SLV control pin to reach the same gain settings in Master and Slave mode. Can they be sure their output level is the same when working in Master and Slave mode? The synchronization will help to reduce noise.

Please share us the schematic, we will help check it. Also tell us the working condition, the supply voltage, load resistance, and output power.
