TAS2110EVM: No audio when playing through USB

Part Number: TAS2110EVM

I have access to PP3, and the TAS2110EVM App. All are installed, and I can connect and read/write from the device.

The jumpers on the EVM are set to the default internal. I'm connected to a bench power supply, 5V 3A.

I've tried multiple speakers, both 4 ohm. No matter what I try, when I select TI USB Audio UAC2.0 as my output device, I get nothing. Sound works properly using other playback devices.

I've tried to play with some of the settings in the control app, but nothing there seems like it would prevent it from working. I followed the User Guide, with the exception of the device sample rate. That window doesn't exist in Windows 10 as far as I can tell.

Thoughts? Any help is appreciated.

  • Hi Brett,

Can you describe the process you follow on the PC? Just a brief example for better understanding.
Some things that would be worth double checing:

    • When you connect EVM to USB and power it up, you should see a "Connect" button on the bottom-left corner. That must be clicked and it should be "Disconnect" all the time after that
    • Once EVM is connected to the GUI, you go to Device Control panel, please make sure to click on the "Power Up" button on the top-right
    • On the same Device Control panel, can you please click on the "IRQ" button on top-right, then click on "Read" on the new window and let me know what flags are enabled?

  • Hi Ivan,

So EVM is powered from a bench power supply (5V, 3A max). Blue light is on.

    Open PP3 and sign in.

    Click on TAS2110EVM app

In the bottom left, I see the EVM - offline. Click connect. Goes green, button changes to disconnect.

    Click on Device Control

In the top right corner, I see the power up button. Click that, changes to power down.

In the Windows system tray, I click on the volume button and confirm I am set to Speakers (TI USB Audio UAC2.0).

Start playing music on the PC.

Lo and behold. Today it works. No idea. I must have done this who knows how many times yesterday. Maybe I have a bad lead somewhere. Sorry to waste anyone's time! Appreciate the response.

On the IRQ question, I see a red dot by TDM Clock Error, Device Power Down, PLL Lock, Device Power up.
