TLV320AIC3110EVM-U: EXTERNAL I2S ENABLE

Hi team,

We are developing Audio module on IMX8MM board using TLV320AIC110 CODEC.

Currently I2C communication is working properly.

But when I connect MCLK, BCLK, WCLK from IMX8MM to TLV320AIC110EVM, I'm getting error something related to sync register.

So when we give supply to TLV board, TAS1020BPFB IC from TLV board is generating clock itself, so basically we can connect one at a time.

How to disconnect TAS1020BPFB configurations through software and hardware, Is there any way connect only external I2S signals?

If I connect I2S_ENABLE pin to 3.3v, Will external I2S be enabled?

Need your help to solve the issue, What can be done?

ONE MORE QUESTIONS:

1. Is there any way to give power supply to TLV IC instead of USB.

Hi,

This TLV320AIC3110EVM-U EVM was built as slave mode, all clocks are coming from TAS1020B. You have to cut traces on the EVM if you want to disconnect these signals from TAS1020B and also power from USB.

Will it work?

Could you please suggest TLV board which is having External I2S support and power supply?

Hi Divyesh,

Not with this EVM, as mentioned above you need to cut the trace.

We don't have any EVM for this device with external I2S option.

Hi Divyesh,

You will need to cut the traces below to isolate them from TAS1020B:

You can then connect them from external source through the test points.

AIC310x device family EVM has that option like this:
