TAS6424-Q1: Consult tas6424-q1 or tas6424e-q1 Whether it can support 2 Ω load when PvdD = 25V power supply in Po_BTL mode

Part Number: TAS6424-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS6424E-Q1

Dears,

Consult tas6424-q1 or tas6424e-q1 Whether it can support 2 Ω load when PvdD = 25V power supply in Po_BTL mode (connect the seat vibrator in a planned way, and the DC impedance range of the seat vibrator is 2 ± 20% Ω; the minimum value is 1.6 Ω; refer to the impedance curve as follows:)

For other speakers (driven by independent power amplifier channel), the minimum impedance of the speaker is 2.88 Ω according to its error range; In this state, whether the chip works normally. If not, what risks may there be? Thank you!

  • Hello,

The TAS6424-Q1 cannot support this in BTL mode, but can support it in PBTL.  The current limit on the device will not allow full power in BTL mode at 25V and 2 ohms.  In PBTL mode you have twice the current.  Please look at your design and determine the maximum peak current you require on each channel.  Then you can decide if you need PBTL or BTL.

    Regards,
    Gregg Scott
