PCM6360-Q1: PCM6360-Q1

Part Number: PCM6360-Q1

Hi team,

Our customer have a question about the PCM6360-Q1.

The Input Line in is the 1kHz signal source, and the output is output disconnected.

As the pictures  shown, the yellow is output and the green is input.

The content of the attachment is the register configuration of PAGE0.

Why does this happen?

  • Hi Xiaoxiang,

How is the output getting converted back to analog? Because it seems like you might have a MCU going to a DAC and the data is not getting handled correctly. Periodic drops indicates some sample rate or buffering mismatch in your system.

    Brian

  • Hi Brian,

    Thanks for your support.

The output of PCM6360 is also disconnected.

The TDM data output by PCM is shown in the figure below.

The content of the attachment is the raw data.

Maybe a configuration problem with the registers?

    Thanks

    Xiaoxiang

  • I don't understand. If the output is disconnected then how are you getting the data into Audacity?

There appears to be some rate mismatch between how Audacity is sampling and the output of the device. For example, your Audacity screen shot shows 44.1kHz. Are the clocks going to PCM6360 running at 44.1kHz also?

    Brian

  • Hi Brain,

[  137.075881] REG:0x1:0x0  is the page0 register, REG 0X1 is Address, and 0x0 is the Value.,[  137.075881] is the time of system.

Just like the the page0 register.

Maybe a configuration problem with the registers?

    Xiaoxiang

  • There might be some register issues, it depends on your application. You did not provide any information on sampling rate, clock configuration (master/slave), etc.. I would need more information to advise on register settings. The best way to configure the registers is to use the PPC3 software, do you have access to it?

My feeling is that you have an issue with the device that is connected to the output of the PCM6360 and that it is handling the data incorrectly. Is it a microcontroller or processor? Can you provide a block diagram or schematic so I can understand?

    Brian

  • Hi Brian,

I don't have the schematic information for now.

But the fault disappears when the input is 1Vrms 1kHZ.

But the fault reappears when the input is 2Vrms 1kHZ.

Maybe it's not a sample rate issue.

    Xiaoxiang

  • That is a very interesting behavior. Do you have the ability to zoom in on the waveform? It would be good to see if the signal is a clean sine wave or has some distortion. Are you able to share the .wav file?
