PCM5142EVM-U: Which GUI should I use?

Part Number: PCM5142EVM-U
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM5142

Hi Experts,

I have a problem using PDM5142 EVM. Could you help me out?

Q1. I noticed there are two types of GUI for PCM5142; PPS and PPC1.16. Which one should I use?

Q2. I could to get output when 44.1kHz Optical output from my AP. But when I changed to 48kHz or higher, I couldn't get the output. Could you advise me to get output at 48khz of Sample rate?

Regards,

Jay

  • Hi jay, In general I  use 48k as my default setting  and I have not seen any issue .

Here is a snapshot of the AP file that I have used in the past with no issue.

I  noticed in your  have snapshot of PPC errors, SCK is present but not valid.  Also the FS to SCK ratio has error which  they all telling you that your clks are not correct.

Table 6 shows examples of valid system clock frequencies for common audio sampling rates.

Note that for 44.1 kHz  and 128fs, you need SCK of 5.6488MHz and for fs= 48 kHz you need a 6.1440MHZ master clk. Please check these criteria.

Please also refer to page 23 of datasheet for more information.

And I have used the PPC GUI in the past for this part.

    Kind Regards,

    Arash
