Hi,
The data sheet says there are two modes
1) I2S
2) DSP
whats the difference between these two?
Does that mean we can not use the features of DSP when we are interfacing the codec to host controller through I2S interface?

Hi Chandra,
The datasheet explains the difference in detail in section 7.3.15. High level, in I2S mode the left and right channel data is read on the rising or falling edge of WCLK whereas DSP the left/right channel data is read subsequent of the other instantly following pulse of WCLK.
In addition, you have to choose DSP or I2S serial interface when configuring the device in page 0, register 27 (D7–D6).
Thank you. I realized, DSP and I2S are two different protocols. It has nothing to do with MiniDSP settings.
