DRV5825P: singled-ended output?

Part Number: DRV5825P

Is it possible to use DRV5825P single-ended instead of BTL? i.e. can one connect a piezo load between OUT_A+ and GND instead of OUT_A+ and OUT_A-? More specifically, does each side of the BTL arrangement use a virtual ground that is 1/2PVDD? I can try this on an EVM, but it would be nice to know BEFORE sourcing a $400 PCBA. thanks!

  • Hi Robb

I'm sorry this device doesn't support SE output. Maybe not burn out directly, but the inner control loop can't guarantee stable. You may met oscillation problem using this way. Using virtual ground would be more dangerous.
