PGA2311: Storing last output level settings at power-off.

Part Number: PGA2311

I am trying to incorporate the PGA2311 into a new design.  I can see from the data sheet that on start-up all outputs are in the mute condition until a new setting is programmed by the host controller.  However, and I'm sure I've seen others looking for this solution...I would like the power-down level settings to be returned/restored.  I can't see any data on this, but I'm sure I read somewhere that it is possible to store the setting (maybe it is just wishful thinking).  Is there a simple solution for restoring the power-down settings?

  • Hi Shaun,

The PGA2311 does not feature non-volatile memory. On power-up (Section 7.4.1 of datasheet) all of the internal registers are reset and the device must be programmed to the desired gain setting through the serial control port (section 7.5 of datasheet).

The gain setting can be stored in your controller's non-volatile memory which can be programmed to write to the PGA2311 volume control register after a power-up reset occurs.

    Regards,

    Zach
