TAS5825P: End System Integration Wiring method inqury

Part Number: TAS5825P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5822M, TAS5825M

Hi Team,

My customer is designing TAS5825P and built a prototype. However they are facing a problem when connecting EVM with their proto-board to use GUI's End System Integration.

They jumped I2C wires to connect between EVM and the proto-board. They did same method when they designed other TAS58xx devices but the problem only happened with this TAS5825P EVM.

Are there any missing wiring between two boards? Please take a look below customer's configuration.

Thanks,

Jay

  • Hi Jay

you mean customer use other tas58xx devices, it worked.

do you mean they jump the wire from mother board? for many other tas58xx have to connect motherboard to work.

tas5825p combine both xmos and amp devices on the same board, some conflict might happen.

    2 points can be check.

    1. take a try mother board to see whether it can connect with customer board.

    2. when flash i2c, does the chip on the tas5825p evm board work or not?

    thanks.

  • Hi Jesse,

For TAS5825P, LG tried with the 5825P EVM. And there was no issue with TAS5822M EVM, when they desined TAS6822 last year.

You said "mother board",Is it refering the PPC3 motherboard that the one used with TAS5825M?

And for #2, the chip worked on.

    Thank you,

    Jay

  • Hi Jay

if tas5822 can connect successfully, tas5825p should work too.

how many amp devices been used on customer's board, for tas5825p evm board only assembled 1pcs amp device, so in-system tuning with over 1 amp might not work.

BTW, do customer have tas5825m board on hand, if customer doesn't use class-h function.

jumping wire from tas5825m can also work. tas5825m GUI should be used at this time.

    thanks.
