TPA3223: Output current Issue

Hi Expert,

My customer is going to use TPA3223 in their new project. I have an application issue to double check with you. They want to use 1Ω load with 15A current (PBTL) in their system. Can TPS3223 be used in such scenarios? Many thanks!

    Hi Wang

    it can not work.

    PBTL mode ocp is 20A which is peak current, the Irms is about 14A which is smaller than 15A.

    also, if considering there is about 1A ripple in the circuit, it will be much more difficult to avoid oc been triggered.
