Hello everyone,

We have purchased a TLV320AIC3120EVM-U evaluation board to test the audio chip for future product development.

Since we don't need the miniDSP feature, can I replace the TLV320AIC3120 with the TLV320AIC3100 (without miniDSP) on the evaluation board?

I checked the datasheet and they seem to be fully footprint compatible.

Thanks @pdjuandi for your comments, I'll try to replace it tomorrow. I assume the codec control software will automatically detect the chip version.

Why is the AIC3100 marked as Class D Stereo on the EVM schematic? According to the datasheet, it is a class D mono output. Stereo is only for the headphones.

Hi,

Try it, if the software does not detect automatically, go to file menu and select the EVM application/Set ID to use AIC3100.

Yes this is a typo, should be mono Class-D.
