PCM2906C: The comparison with PCM2903

The customer is considering to choose PCM2906C or PCM2903.

The customer find the below three advantages of PCM2906C.

1. The 2906 can use the internal 3.3V LDO as the power supply for VCCI, VCCP1, and VCCP2. It saves an external 3.3V LDO compared to the 2903.
2. The current design refers to Fig36 for High-Performance Application. The 2906 is powered by an external 3.65V LDO, and the full scale output is 0dBu. If using the internal 3.3V LDO or 2903 output, full scale -0.88dBu. It is not an integer.
3. High-Performance Application, external LDO output is controlled by \SSPND, which can realize LPF AMP Power down and Mute functions.

Is there more advantages for PCM2906C?

There is another question. After PCM2906 is connected to the computer, can the device name be displayed on the computer? How to achieve this?

    Those are pretty much it. Performance wise they are very similar, the major difference being the internal LDO.

    Tables 2, 3, and 4 show the USB descriptors. I'm not sure exactly what you want to achieve by "displaying on the computer." The descriptor strings do not contain the device itself (PCM2906C) but can be read from and then displayed with an external program however you wish.
