PCM1821EVM: SO#: 102624 - oscillations at the pin "BCK" - Board defective?

Part Number: PCM1821EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1808EVM

Hello,

can you please help with a customer issue using the board P/N: PCM1821EVM and believing it to be defective ?

to the test setup (Setup.jpg):

I am already using an error-free PCM1808EVM (top right). In the setting as "Master" I can measure an error free signal at pin "BCK" (PCM1808EVM.pdf).

Because of the more compact design I wanted to test the comparable PCM1821EVM.

As "master" a clock has to be connected to this board at pin "MCLK".

Due to the short line I could not notice any degradation of the signal quality. However, there are strong oscillations at the pin "BCK"
(PCM1821EVM.pdf).These voltage peaks are not tolerable for my application.

For the oscillograms I chose a different time resolution, the frequency is actually identical.

Can you please advise if te board needs to be replaced?

Thank you very much.

Best regards
