ADC5140EVM-PDK: Header file generation

Hi,

I use PurePath console -TLV320ADC5140

When I generate file with "end system integration", registers 0x17 and 0x1a to 0x1e are initialized.

These registers are not describe in the TLV320ADC5140 documentation, and are not present in "Register Map".

Maybe I may have missed something in the documentation.

Can someone explain to me the reason or my mistake ?

Hi Patrice,

Registers 0x17, 0x1A, 0x1E have different functions depending on which page of registers you are writing to.

Assuming page 0, 0x17 is a hidden register in TLV320ADC5140, this likely has a default value of and automatic write of #10 when device is initialized. If you're referring to 0x17 on page 2-4, then those are registers associated to programmable biquads. Table 131 onwards in datasheet.

For 0x1A-0x1E on page 0, these are automatic writes to the internal PLL (coefficients, dividers, etc.) when initialized. On page 2-4, there function is shown on datasheet in Table 131 onward.

Hi,

Just one another question.

Your development board use an xmos to interface with external world.

Could it be possible to have the code of the xmos or do I have develop from scratch my own board ?

Hi Patrice,

I don't believe there is a way to extrapolate the coding within the XMOS from our EVM board. It is convenient method we use to interface with our board via USB + PPC3 without having an external MCU.

In a real world application, your MCU or SoC would be the interface that allows you to interact with chip.
