TPA6304-Q1: Amp output synchronization issues

Part Number: TPA6304-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3110D2-Q1,

Dear TI experts,

The customer uses TPA6304-Q1 and TPA3110D2-Q1 as Class D amplifiers to drive speakers of different powers, and uses the same analog audio source input (5 channels in total), but the 6304 and 3110D2 operate at different frequencies, and the 3110D2 does not support synchronous signal input, will this cause the output sound to be out of sync and cause auditory delay? How do you eliminate this out-of-sync problem? Thanks!

  • Hi Roger

but the 6304 and 3110D2 operate at different frequencies

Do you mean the PWM frequency? This frequency usually won't affect the audio delay or performance.

and the 3110D2 does not support synchronous signal input, will this cause the output sound to be out of sync and cause auditory delay? How do you eliminate this out-of-sync problem?

Both of this two devices are analog input device, they have very small and similar delay time, around 20us. From experience, it seldom cause problem.
