TAS5760MD: Can we connect pin18-31 to GND if we didn't use the headphone or line driver function?

Part Number: TAS5760MD
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5760M, TAS5760L

Hi, Team

In one of the MP project(PCB fix), Our customer use TAS5760M, the pin18-31 NC pin connect to GND, that is match our datasheet. (they didn't use headphone function in this project)

But they prefer mount the TAS5760MD into the same PCB. But as you can know, For TAS5760MD, Pin 18-31 is not NC pin. Customer prefer to check with TI, whether they can use the TAS5760MD in the same PCB and connect pin 18-31 to GND?

 Our datasheet shows:

"The entire TAS5760xx family is pin-to-pin compatible in the 48-Pin TSSOP package. Alternatively, to achieve the smallest possible solutions size for applications where pin-to-pin compatibility and a headphone or line driver are not required, a 32-Pin TSSOP package is offered for the TAS5760M and TAS5760L devices. The I2C register map in all of the TAS5760xx devices are identical, to ensure low development overhead when choosing between devices based upon system-level requirements."

But datasheet didn't show that: how to handle the pin18-31 pin if we use TAS5760MD?

Could u help to check and share your comments?

Thanks.
