TAS6584-Q1: TIDA-020033 reference design (reconstruction filter values?)

Part Number: TAS6584-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-020033,

I notice that on the TIDA-020033 reference design BOM for the reconstruction filters (L100..107) that the value and part number is for 0.47uH.

Is this a typo? Shouldn't they be 4.7uH (assuming 2.1Mhz operation) or am I missing something?

Also is there an eval board available to assist in TAS6584-Q1 Class H development?

Thanks

.

  • Hi Leo

For the TAS6584 related circuit and BOM, suggest we could follow TAS6584EVM as below link.

    https://www.ti.com/tool/TAS6584Q1EVM

Our team is building a new reference board, also working on a detailed user guide for this function. Target to finish at June.

  • Leo,

The 0.47uH on this design was just a placeholder. The correct value to use there depends on which Fsw, Load impedances and maximum boost voltage you intend to operate at.

For example, a 42V boosted system for 4x 100W 8ohm speaker loads operating at 480kHz Fsw would want a 10uH inductor. If you were operating at 35V max and 2.1MHz Fsw, you would be able to reduce the inductor size to 3.3uH. It really depends on your specific system need.
