Hi!

I am looking for a stereo power amp / speaker amp EVM that can take a digital audio input from a USB cable, connected to a Linux PC.

Actually the purpose of the stereo amp is to deliver 2 identical EMF excitation fields of white noise via 2 telephone pick-up coils (R=280 Ohm and L=159 mH), so the most important criteria is that the output in the 2 channels will be as identical as possible, especially in terms of noise and distortion.

So what are the options? Thank you.

    Hello Henrik,

    Typically a majority of our testing is on windows so can't comment on how the linux connection would work, however you can provide I2S signals directly to the bus and there is also an optical connector on many of our EVM if you had an USB to optical adapter board. We use an XMOS device on the evms so it may work if you can configure the right audio source but would be difficult to support if this is not the case since we typically have windows TI audio drivers that are installed when you download PPC3.

    We do have a reference linux driver for the actual TAS5822M device but not for the EVM specifically.

    I have marked your answer as "this resolved my issue" although my conclusion is that it will be too complicated trying to connect a digital input speaker amp via USB to my Linux PC. :-)
