TLV320AIC3104: Checking lifecycle status

Part Number: TLV320AIC3104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAC5212

Hello,

We have a new design and the engineer would like to use TLV320AIC3104IRHBR.  Our only concern is whether this product will stay in production for several more years.

Can someone confirm if TI will continue to produce this part or if it is scheduled for EOL in the next year or two?

Based on forecasts we could need hundreds of thousands of these per year....

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

  • Hi Jim,

We do not have any plans to EOL the TLV320AIC3104. However we are encouraging that anyone looking to design with the TLV320AIC3104 and it's sister parts take a look at the TAC5x1x family of devices (TAC5212: https://www.ti.com/product/TAC5212) as they are an upgrade from the TLV320AIC3x0x. These are in preview right now and will release in ~3Q of this year. I'd encourage you to investigate a design with the TAC5212. However if you're determined to use the TLV320AIC3104, then you don't need to worry about the device going to EOL. We will continue to manufacture it for the foreseeable future.

    Best regards,
    Jeff McPherson

  • Thanks, Jeff- I notified the engineers.  I think they are aware of the new product but there is something about the older one that they prefer....Thank you!
