I am doing one project where i need to convert usb data from PC to S/PDIF, so I am using PCM2707. However I have question about channel status bits (consumer/pro, copyright, etc if they can be changed by user somehow?
Is it possible?
Thanks
Zeljko
Hi, Zeljko,
Sorry for the delay. I'm sure you read the section of the d/s titled, "Channel Status Information" and you are hoping for some work-around. Sorry, there is no work-around thanks to the lawyers...

Hello Don,
Thank you for the answer. Yes, you are right I was hoping for some work around. Actually in older PCM2707 datasheet ( SLES081E–JUNE 2003–REVISED NOVEMBER 2007) in the last paragraph about Channel status bits and Copyright management states:
"...Copyright Management
Digital audio data output always is encoded as original with SCMS control. Only one generation of digital duplication is allowed. The implementation of this feature is optional. Note that it is your responsibility for determining whether to implement this feature in your product or not......."
Just for the record, in new d/s release this paragraph is changed somehow, the bold sentence and next one are moved to the another paragraph - on the same page, paragraph about Digital Audio Interface—S/PDIF Output. I am not sure if that change was by accident or not :)....
Anyway, thanks for the answer and help again.
regards,
Zeljko
