TLV320ADC3140: I want to save the Linear PCM digital output as a WAV file.

Part Number: TLV320ADC3140

Tool/software:

There is a Q&A regarding the PCM output of the delta-sigma (ΔΣ) ADC.

As stated on page 19 of the specifications, it mentions the pulse code modulation (PCM) data format.

Is it correct to understand this PCM format as the Linear PCM Compression Code specification that can be stored in a WAV file?

I apologize for asking such a basic question during Thanksgiving, but I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

  • Hi Hattori-san,

You are correct, the output is a linear PCM data format that can be stored as a .wav file. Most (if not all) audio devices output data in this way. We regularly record data and save it as .wavs with our EVMs.

    Best regards,
