TAS5630 burns at higher music output

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5630

Hello,
we have massive trouble with the Class D amplifier device "TAS5630". In our prototyping assembly, the powerstage burns down at high power output. I talk about a PVDD current of about 1 to 3 Ampere at a PVDD voltage of max. 42V. We have burned five powerstages with interim different GVDD supplies. Now we are absolutely perplexed and don't know what we do wrong.

  • Hi, Christian,

You can find many posts like this in e2e... This is an extremely high performance device that requires a good PCB layout and external components to work well. Please look at some of the other posts for ideas on how to solve your problems. Basically, copying the EVM gives you the best chance of success.

  • we think you can find other way to resolve your meet problems,we found most of us pay lots of attention to PCB route or parts selection, we think we have to find more way to  improvve it, like add some others circuit with this series chip,we have made perfect hard design year ago,we can describe this below. if any other questions, pls connect us.

monitor the protection pin(like sd/otw1/otw2),reset sd pin when protection occuring, it is simple but it is effective indeed.
