TAS5508 programming sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5508, TAS5508C, DIR9001

I am intersted in using TAS5508 in my project as the audio processor for digital amplifire. I hope to use a microcontroller to access TAS5508. So can someone please let me know what are the correct sequence for getting this to work. For example the most basic programming steps to use TAS5508 in a design? so that I can test the power amp at the initial design

Thank You!

San

  • Hi, San,

You're using the TAS5508C, right? All earlier versions are NRND (not recommended for new designs).

The register map starts on page 69 of the data sheet. Depending on your intended usage, the needed writes will be different. Please review the d/s, and let me know if you have further questions.

  • Thank you for your advice... Actually I see a that has many options.

I installed the pure path and found out it can generate a list of configurations (Data corresponds to different addresses). Can I simply use that list and use a microcontroller to send data to TAS5508c at the beginning.

Actually I am planning to design a digital amplifire using A/D---->TAS5080C---->Digital power stage. I am planning to use DIR9001 as the clock. During my first run I really do not need to use extensive configuration. All I need is run the system in basic configuration. Can you please let me know what addresses are the most important and need to access to get this work without changing the default settings?

    Thanks!
