Can't find TAS5719 device in TAS570X GED?!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5709, TAS5719, TAS5719EVM, TAS5717EVM

Hello,

I have downloaded TAS570X GED (2.1 build 14). When i start a new design, on the right side, i can select the device. My problem is that only 5707, 5708 or 5709 appear? If i load a default pfw file (TAS5709_10_default.pfw for example), i can change the device to 5709,5710 or 5711! So i'm new to this and completly lost. Do i have the right software? Should i use another device number (similar to 5719)?

BTW, I can connect in I2c w/o problems. I used the I2C memory tool and got "6c" for adress "0x00".

Haven't gone further than that. Would like to know if this is normal or not?

Any help appreciated.

  • Hi Mehdi,

The GUI for TAS5719 is available for download on the TAS5719 device webpage. (http://www.ti.com/product/tas5719)

You might also want to refer to the application-note titled "Setting TAS5717EVM/TAS5719EVM Environment variable" that is also available on the same TAS5719 device webpage.

  • Hi, Mehdi,

Did you get this sorted out?

  • Hi Don, and thanks Ravi for the link,

Didn't have much time to test it. I downloaded the software and started it. I was able to select my device, only problem is that i can't find the component toolbar or add a wire between existing components in the default design (i don't have a toolbar at the top like shown in the help, the file menu is also different with only an exit command).

Like i said i didn't have much time, only tested it for a few minutes without the EVM connected to the pc. That might be the problem?

Anyway, i'm going to spend some time on it this week.

  • Mehdi,

The TAS57xx family are ROM-coded, you can't change the process flow, you can only change the coefficients in the blocks like BiQuads, DRC, Volume, etc.
