CC8521 usb soundcard

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC8521

Hi,

I used CC8521 to make a USB dongle, the hardware works good, but  when I used  the VOLUME bar(windows xp sp3) to turn down the volume,  it didnt work. At last,I found that only the WAVE bar can be used to turn down the volume,as show below:

The SPEAKER bar was gray, it didn't work when  value be changed, even though click the first CHECKBOX (Mute) , there was still output. Did I miss any details when I configurate the CC8521? Or anything wrong with my PC operate system?  When I plug the dongle, the output always at the MAX volume, are there any configurations to make the OUTPUT at the MIN when plug the dongle ?

Hope for reply, thanks.

Regards.

Jack.

  • Ji Jack,

Make sure that Minimum volume is set to something lower than 0 dB on your output volume settings for the dongle (see picture below). This is to have some volume range, so that adjustment of the volume bar in Windows is possible.

You can affect the volume bar start position by adjusting the Default volume field.

Also make sure that the slave uses Remote output volume control (see below).
