Having trouble with TAS5717 startup

I'm having trouble starting up the TAS5717 on a new design. I used the EVAL schematic as a reference when creating my design but I can not get the chip to start up. Should I hear some level of pop when the amp turns on or a hiss from the speakers.

Also, is the reset, and power-down timing crucial to start up.

Hi EMu27,

Have the registers been programmed? Please read-back registers 0x1B, 0x05, 0x07 & 0x02.

Note, 0x02 is error register. This should be first cleared by writing x00 before reading.

Next, please check if the output PWM waveform (pre-filter) is switching.

Also what are the I2S clock frequencies being used (MCLK, SCLK, LRCLK)?

We got it working now we had to set the factory trim to enabled is there a reason for this?

Also, what size inductor amp wise does TI suggest for this chipset?

In case you didn't see my reply earlier we were able to get the 5717 up and running. I did have an additional question what does TI suggest as far as the inductor uH value and current rating for this amp?

Hi EMu27,

Great to hear that you got it working. The EVM uses a 15uH inductor, and this should work well in most typical cases. The inductor-current rating will depend on the use-case requirements.
