TAS5611/5613 2xBTL mono from 1 differential input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5611, TAS5612LA, TAS5622A, TAS5611A

Hello,

I have designed a plateform based on the TAS5611 amplifier chip.

My plateform is done to explore the multiple configurations available from this chip (BTL, PBTL) ; one of our application consists of using this plateform in such a way that we could only have 1 differential mono (L+R) signal inputting the TAS5611 that I want to use in 2xBTL outputting 2 times the same mono signal on 2 dissociated loads.

The question is; is it possible to use the TAS5611, officially in PBTL mode (M3M2M1 = "101" with INPUT_C=1 and INPUT_D=0) inputting my signal using A-B input(differential input) but mapping the output in BTL on 2 loads instead of PBTL (1 load)?

Thank you.

Antoine.

  • Hi Antoine,

If you intend to have 2x BTL with 2 input signals, I would recommend TAS5612LA or TAS5622A. These newer power stage has 1N input mode to do just that.

  • Hi Paul,

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, I am working from an already existing plateform that integrates TAS5611a (analog diff input); I cannot change use another chip.

I do not see any issue to use TAS5611a with 1 differential input and setting TAS5611a in PBTL mode but using it in 2xBTL mode, do not you think?

Is there any limitation coming from the chip itself?

    Antoine.
