I am unable to locate the MC57xxPSIA or distributorin Argentina

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5709A, TAS5715, TAS5558, TAS5548, TAS5508C, TAS5709

Hi, I need some help, I am needing to find a way to communicate to the TAS5709A and tas5715/TAS5709a  with a pc so I can work with the TAS Gui Software so I can ellaborate more on the parameters I need to set for my  biquads, unfortunately I am not able to purchase the MC57xxxPsia board locally due to our recent stringent restrictions on imports here in Argentina. I know that without the firmware and the TAS1020B I am pretty much stuck.

I am working with an Atmega64 writing in C language but there are several issues arising as I am not able to get some parameters for the biquads and gains right although my code and I2C analyzer says it ok. Boardwise, all RF and layout guidelines are met as I am experienced designer in class D amplifiers. All this comes in light of the fact that I am designing a DSP based digital multichannel amplifier module ( approx. +2,4 KW total power ) for line arrays and I am being pressed for time as I have been set a deadline for initial delivery of the first prototypes for testing in a 4 x 4 Line array unit... I am in the same predicament as I am soon to begin coding for the TAS5548 and TAS5558 so I can design a fully featured Processor and more advanced fully controllable PWM processor for the same power amp application which will include up to 6 BTL loaded outputs for Low, Mid and Higs in both stereo and mono modes with both analog and Digital AES/EBU inputs. So far I could not contact nor find any distributors here in Argentina. We have already designed and are in the process of manufacturing a test bed using the TAS5508C + 2 TAS5531B (Boards have already been sent for manufacturing) so I can begein testing operation on a 2x2 line array speaker system along with its 1,5kw SMPS

Are there any alternatives to enabling the communication of the TASxxxx GUI via I2C and my sample units in real time so I can speed up my solution and then write the necessary code?

Either that or... Where could I purchase and what is the costs of the MC57xxPSIA board alone through your local distributors (if any) In Argentina. so far I have developed all the TASxxxx boards and managed to run many runing on an Atmega64, but without direct access to the TAS via PC debuging the code is turning too time consuming given the time constraints I am imposed in the company's lab. I can take care of the hardware interfacing to the MC57 board to my test modules already built and currently testing, at least partially.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Hi, Jorge,

I am not aware of any import restrictions in Argentina. Are you saying that you can't buy an EVM off our eStore?

We don't sell the MC57xx-PSIA as a stand-alone board, but it ships with many of the TAS57xx devices (both TAS5709 and TAS5715).

We also have an EVM for the TAS5548 that you can buy from our eStore. http://www.ti.com/tool/tas5548evm

Let me know if you can't place an order thru our eStore.
