TAS5630 low frequency response

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5630, TAS5630B

Hello

Can the TAS5630 be run with a DC input? (and corresponding DC output)  If not DC, then can it be run at a very low frequency such as 1/4 Hz (0.25 Hz) with large enough DC blocking capacitors? What is the attenuation (frequency response) of the chip itself at less than 20Hz?

Thanks,

Evan

  • Hi, Evan,

We do not recommend the TAS5630B be used in this manner.

It was designed specifically as an audio device, and as such, it was specified, designed, characterized, and tested for audio use only.

It can not pass DC due to the bootstrap caps used to bias the high-side FETs.
