PCM1803A analog and digital ground connect and PCM1748 Connectivity

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCM1803A, PCM1748, PCM1803, PCM1789

Hello.

I have a question about the ground connection of the PCM1803A. Is normal that internally the analogic ground pin have continuity with the digital ground pin, measured without connect the PCB?.

And Other question about the Connectivity of the PCM1803A with PCM1748. If I connect the PCM1803 as master and the PCM1748 as slave, work with the mode control pines as default settings. How i can generate the analogic signal recovered if i connect at the input of the PCM1803 a sine signal? my recovered signal is a square signal of the same frequency of the sine signal.

Thanks

  • Hi,

there may be a weak path between the two. In the application, the two ground potentials must be kept within 0.3V fo. Proper operation of the IC.

It sounds like you have too much gain in your system, and you are causing the pcm1789 to go into clipping.
