Po vs PVDD Characteristics of TAS5612LA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5612LA

Hi...

My customer wants to configure the SEx2 and BTLx1  Output Stage of TAS5612LA.

Also my customer wants to apply the speaker impedance of SE configuration to 6 ohm or 8 ohm.

But these information can not be found in datasheet and associated information of TAS5612LA.

So I'd like to request the Po vs PVDD Characteristics (SE configuration, 6 ohm and 8 ohm)

I 'm looking for your response.

Thanks.

  • Hi, JaePhil,

I have asked my colleague to work with you on this issue. It may take us a few days to get this data for you.

    -d2

  • Hi,JaePhil,

I am working on this request.

I want to know you request for Po VS PVDD @THD+N=1% or Po VS PVDD @THD+N=10%?

And on page 11 of datasheet ,figure 2 and figure 4 show the curve of BTL,8 ohms.

So I suggest to test the rest data.

    Thanks,

    Flora Wang

  • Hi, Flora Wang

    Thanks for your reply.

I want to konw the Po vs Pvdd(V) and Po vs Ivdd(A) @THD+N=10%, SE mode, 6ohm and 8ohm.

If you need more information, please request for me.

I hope that I receive the measurement result as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

  • JaePhil,

THe 6-8ohm SE output power can be fouind as half the 3-4ohm SE power, since the amplifier output voltage is identical.

  • Hi,JaePhil,

Here attaches the 8 ohm SE Po VS Pvdd@1%THD.8053.TAS5612LA Po VS PVDD_8ohms_SE.xlsx

I will continue update the data.

By the way, the customer request the Ivdd? I think the cusomer wants to know the efficiency of our device, the datasheet has the BTL efficiency to reference. And the 6ohms output  is about 1.33 times but a little bigger than 8 ohms output power.Because when the load is 8 ohms ,the efficiency is a litte higher.(That's what Sorenpoulsen explain we can calculate,Thanks Sorenpoulsen)

Can you explain to the customer first? I think he just want to know the efficiency and the output power, not the exactly every data. of course,I will continue update the data to make you more clearly.

    Thanks,

    Flora Wang

  • Hi,JaePhil,

Here attaches the update, please kindly find it in the attachement.7824.TAS5612LA Po VS PVDD_8ohm and 6ohms_SE.xlsx

Here are a few things  I want to mention:

1.The Current in the document is 2*SE output, not inculd the BTL.I confiure it as 1*BTL+2*SE,but I don't know what's the output power of BTL you want. This is 2.1,usually the BTL is subwoofer channel, the output power isdiferent with SE,usually we don't test like this.Usually We  test the output power of every channel.

2.The current of 2*SE is almost twice of 1SE.I write it down in case you need the current of each channel.Just use half current for reference is OK.

    Thanks,

    FLora Wang

  • Hi, Flora Wang

    Thanks for your quick response.

    The output configuration of my customer is 2SE+1BTL (2.1ch) @ 6ohm or 8ohm, Pvdd=29.5V

So my customer needs the Po vs Pvdd and Po vs Ivdd of each SE channel @ THD+N 10%.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,JaePhil,

Since you want to test 2.1,I want to say the BTL channel usually has low pass filter.I am not sure which kind of filter you will use in the BTL channel .or you just want to test the all pass.

if you want to test some specify condition,Could you send me your configure register table? So that my seting is the same as yours. Then the test can meets your requirement.

if you just want to test the all pass band of BTL,I think just calculate ,then we can get the result.

    Thanks,

    Flora Wang

  • Hi, JaePhil,

I test the data ,just configure the 2.1CH,and give the BTL all pass.

I think this data is enough for teh customer to know the output power and efficiency.

    PVDD=29.5V

    THD+N=10%(SE )

    8ohms

    6ohms

    SE (W)

    BTL(W)

    Ivdd(A)

    SE (W)

    BTL(W)

    Ivdd(A)

    15.8*2

    63.0

    3.37

    20.4*2

    81

    4.41

     Thanks,

    Flora Wang

  • Hi, Flora Wang

    Thanks for your measurement data.

I need one more thing like "TAS5612LA Po vs PVDD_8ohm and 6ohm_SE.xlsx" for guide of my customer.

I think that the measurement condition has changed THD+N=1% to THD+N=10%.

    For example,

    PVDD        Ch1_Output_SE                Ch1_IVDD_SE                 Ch1_Output_SE               Ch1_IVDD_SE

                       (8ohm_THD+N=10%)      (8ohm_THD+N=10%)    (6ohm_THD+N=10%)    (6ohm_THD+N=10%)

    12V                     ??W                                   ??A                                         ??W                                    ??A

    ......                      ......                                     ......                                           ......                                      ......

    34V                     ??W                                   ??A                                         ??W                                    ??A

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,JaePhil,

Here attaches the data of THD+N=10%.4314.TAS5612LA Po VS PVDD_8ohm and 6ohms_2.1ch_THD+N=10%.xlsx

Please let me know if you have some question.
