TAS5414C-Q1 Step Response Time for DC Detection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414C-Q1

Hi,

The step response time for dc detection is mentioned on page 9 of TAS5414C-Q1 data sheet as below.
We believe that the 5.3s which is mentioned as the maximum value means the time required to detect the dc error after having applied a stable power supply.
Then, could you please tell us the time required to detect the dc error in the normal operation?

Best Regards,
Kato

  • Kato-san,

The DC detection uses a one second timer to measure the DC offset on each channel.  These are not performed at the same time, but serially.  Channel 1 is tested first, then channel 2, then 3 and 4.  Then we go back to channel one.  This happens continuously.  The maximum length that a DC offset could be detected is 5.3 seconds, due to tolerances and the measuring methodology. The minimum time is less than one second but this depends on the magnitude of the DC offset.

The time to indicate an error depends on the DC offset voltage and when the DC offset event started relative to the internal timer.

  • Hi Gregg-san,

Thank you for your quick reply.
I understood and will inform your information to our customer.
