Please let me know about two point below of TAS5766M.
・On the datasheet P32, It includes the following sentences.
"Volume block, from -110 db to +6 dB with 0.5 dB steps, including a fixed gain block of 0dB to 12 dB gain"
Where in the PurePath does "fixed gain" indicate? (attached below)
Is Volume(-11 to 6) or Pregain(-2 to 10) indicated?
※Volume(-11, 6) > -110dB to +6dB? Pregain(-2, 12) > 0dB to 12dB?
・About Pre gain, Even if less than -2 is input, Pregain reacts.
Is this the bug?
Best regards,
Satoshi
Satoshi-san,
Volume is not -11 to 6, this is an error with the text rendering in the GUI. It is -110 to 6.
Pre Gain is same as fixed gain as you indicate. I think older GUI showed 0 to 12dB and not -2dB. But if you write any value less than 0 there will not be a problem. It is simply a shift scale component with gain of 4x.
The purpose of fixed gain is to set an optimal input to output relationship. For example, if you find that you need a bit more loudness, then you change this value to, say, 6dB. This fixed gain does not have ramping so it is not optimal for changing value on the fly. The Volume control is intended to be controlled by host.

Satoshi-san,
From process flow perspective it can go down to mute.
But not sure about GUI. Can you try to see the behavior and then save into snapshot and then load snapshot to see if it was saved? Let me know your result.
