TAS5414B-Q1 3ch PBTL mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TAS5414B-Q1, TAS5414C-Q1

Hello. This is Minsu Han.

I'm considering TAS5414B-Q1 for our applications.

We have to handle 2 Ohm speaker.

I have some question below items.

1) There are 4 output on TAS5414B. Can TAS5414B-Q1 use 3ch output PBTL mode and 1 mono output?

2) If 3ch PBTL mode is possible, I'd like to know haddling power when we use 3ch PBTL mode. We have to handle at least 100W and 2 Ohm speaker under 14V PVDD.

3) If there is application note for this, please share the application note.

Thank you.

  • Hi Minsu,

    1. The TAS5414B-Q1 can be placed in PBTL mode.  Two, three or four channels can be paralleled.
    2. You will not increase the power into a 2 ohm speaker at 14.4Vdc if you parallel channels.  The power will be voltage limited.  You would need to increase the voltage to get to 100W into 2 ohms.
    3. Please download the TAS54x4C Design Guide from the TAS5414C-Q1 webpage.  This will provide good information for designing with the device.

  • Dear Mr.Scott

    Thank you for your comment

I'll refer to your comment for making our own design.
