Using a DRV134 to send a signal to a differential DAQ card

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV134

I want to use the DRV134 to send an audio signal down a metre of shielded twisted pair to a differential DAQ card with 100M ohm input impedance.

Is it best to add a load resistor at the DAQ input to achieve 600 ohm input impedance?

What load resistor will give me best performance (lowest noise)?

Thanks,

Luke

  • Hi Luke,

I think DRV134 should be able to drive higher loads than 600-Ohm.
How are you intending to place the 600-Ohm load resistor before de DAQ?
Have you seen Figure 30 and 31 from DRV134 datasheet? There are some setups and THD+N curves for different load variations.
I will gather some information about the recommended load resistors.

  • Hi Ivan,

    Thanks for the help.

Similar to Fig 30, I was planning on using a 600 ohm resistor between +Vo and -Vo but at the DAQ end of the cable or should it be at the DRV134 end?

Also not including R1 and R2 as there will be a common reference GND in the same cable.

    Cheers,

    Luke
